CAPA, Child Abuse
Prevention and Awareness, is dedicated to serving Hillsdale County.
Through educational programs, events, fundraisers, and other activities
we are working hard to try to make a difference for children and
families. We work hard to stay focused on our mission to promote the
prevention and awareness of child abuse and neglect, and to advocate
for appropriate social change. Our vision that all children will live
in families and communities that love, nurture and protect them can
only become a reality with all of us making it a priority.

Domestic Harmony
We provide temporary shelter for victims of domestic violence in Hillsdale
County. We also provide free individual and group counseling at our shelter, a 24 hour crisis line, and some legal services.

Key Opportunities
Key Opportunities, Inc., a
private non-profit (501C3) company providing (pre)vocational training
and employment opportunities, and located in Hillsdale County,
Michigan, opened its doors for service in March of 1976. Prior to this,
Key Opportunities, then known as Quality Industries, was under the
direction of the Hillsdale County Intermediate School district as a
vocational program for school age students. In 1976, to insure growth
and expand services to other county residents, Key incorporated as a
private company. Since that time, Key has grown from an organization of
15 to a company of over 150.

Legal Services of South Central Michigan
Legal Services of South
Central Michigan (LSSCM) is a private non-profit organization that
provides free legal advice and representation to low-income persons and
senior citizens (regardless of income) in certain civil legal cases.
We provide general civil legal services to low-income and senior
citizens of Barry, Branch, Calhoun, Clinton, Eaton, Hillsdale, Ingham,
Jackson, Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, Shiawassee, and Washtenaw
counties. We also provide legal services to senior citizens of St.
Joseph County.

Lifeways
LifeWays is an organization that manages the behavioral health
treatment and services for Jackson and Hillsdale County residents who
meet requirements for eligibility. LifeWays does not directly provide
treatment and services. Rather, LifeWays function is to contract with
private companies and individuals who do. The services we manage are
provided by the Lifeways Provider Network – a group of more than 70
local private practices and professionals – ensuring convenient 24-hour
access to a full spectrum of behavioral health care for eligible
residents of Jackson and Hillsdale counties.

McCullough, Vargas, & Associates
McCullough, Vargas, and Associates, Inc. has been providing
substance abuse and behavioral health care services since
1990. We have two convenient locations in Lenawee and
Hillsdale counties. Both locations' business hours are Monday
through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with evening and
weekend sessions available by appointment.
